The Japanese longline fishery, Owasebussan, has officially been certified with the MSC sustainability logo. The decision came after no objections were filed to the final draft report published by the Conformity Assessment Body (CAB), SCS Global Services.

The certification covers albacore, yellowfin, and bigeye fished by longliners fishing in the North Pacific Ocean region of the WCPFC Convention Area. Owasebussan operates with only two vessels.
