Oman Fisheries Top Executive Fired For Underperfoming
Fish processing company Oman Fisheries recently fired its Chief Operating Officer Miguel Sanchez “due to noticeable and unacceptable decline in his job performance.” In a document sent to the Muscat Stock Exchange last week, the company stated his termination, just 18 months after his appointment, is due to the “Board’s strategic direction towards restructuring as part of the company’s transformation plan.” The executive’s last working day will be on December 31.
Sanchez was hired by Oman Fisheries in May 2023. He has held several leadership roles for over 15 years in African and European-based companies. His expertise includes procurement management and the production of value-added products, engaging in business turnaround and transformation in operational efficiency, reported Middle East news sites. Sanchez’s firing comes three months after the company’s Chief Financial Officer Andrea Armando left due to personal reasons. Oman Fisheries’ canned tuna products are sold under the Sadaf brand. It also produces yellowfin whole rounds and loins.
