Edison Foods Focuses On Market Expansion With Sustainable Production

Vietnamese processor Edison Foods has modernized its production lines to process canned tuna and pre-cooked tuna loins more sustainably and offer the best quality at a good price.

Tan Phat Foods Co. operates in the global market under the name Edison Foods and trades its canned tuna and frozen pre-cooked tuna loins to customers in Europe, the US, Africa, the Middle East, Japan, and Korea. The company was founded in 2010 and currently has 700 employees working in its three factories.

The canned tuna plant in Long An Province has four modern automated production lines with cutting and seaming machines made in Europe and two Hermasa 300 DC automatic tuna canning machines. The cannery’s maximum daily output capacity is 100 M/T. Located on the 20,000 square meter area are the production factory, cold storage for raw materials, and a warehouse for finished products.

Edison Foods produces for private labels as well as its own brand TonyTuna with premium tuna primarily sold in the Middle East, Asia, and the domestic market.

The plant processes skipjack, yellowfin, and tongol into cans with options for solid, chunk, or flake quality. The species are cleaned and loined in another facility of the company for further processing in its cannery or direct sale.

The loining facility has a state-of-the-art production line with highly efficient freezing technologies such as two IQF machines for quick freezing and seven air blast freezers. Together with five steaming cabinets, this plant has a 100 M/T daily production capacity that can meet the customer’s needs.

Edison Foods pursues sustainable development in its entire production chain from purchasing raw materials to finished products. The quality is strictly controlled by its Technical, Quality Assurance, and
Quality Control team and skilled workers at the production lines to meet the demands of the customers.

The company has the certifications: IFS, BRC, BSCI, FDA, MSC, Halal, Kosher, HACCP, ISO 9001-2015, ISO 22000-2018, and Dolphin-Safe. It meets the export requirements of most countries and has EU code TS 754 and DL 223.
