Samoa Tuna To Start Cannery Renovation In Marchff

The reconstruction of the Samoa Tuna Processors’ plant in Atuu, in American Samo, is planned to start in March.

Samoa Tuna Processors is the company that is now leasing the former Samoa Packing facility which was closed in September 2009.

Joe Hamby, managing director of Tri Marine International, Samoa Tuna Processors’ parent company, says the contracts for the demolition, reconstruction and modernization of the plant are under development and discussion.

The company expects the physical work on the rebuilding of the plant to start in March.
