Cape Finisterre, flagship of a Pacific-based tuna purse-seining fleet, back at Ship Repair NZ Ltd.
Spot the good news for Whangarei’s marine industry along Port Rd’s “golden kilometer†this week - three foreign-owned vessels bringing millions of dollars to the city economy.
Cape Finisterre, flagship of a Pacific-based tuna purse-seining fleet, went up on the slipway at Ship Repair NZ Ltd earlier this week; and a luxery yacht and a 32m ocean-going luxury ‘passage-maker’ Black Pearl docked at nearby yards.
The 33m Cape Finisterre was at Ship Repair NZ last year for a refit; this visit is for installation of a new engine and gear-box.
