Pioneer Cannery Awards 571 Workers For Long Serviceff

Pioneer Food Cannery (PFC) Limited, the Ghanaian affiliate of MW Brands, the worldwide seafood manufacturers and distributors and producers of StarKist tuna and other tuna products has honored  571 of its 1,312 employees at it long service awards  ceremony held at Tema.

Of the number of the awardees, representing 40% of the company’s workforce, 47 have meritoriously crossed the 20-year mark, 10 have similarly completed seven years, with the rest having successfully done more than 15 years.

Mr. Nichol John Elizabeth, the General Manager of PFC, commended the workers for their hard work and dedication.

In a speech read on his behalf by Carlo Tolhoek, Country Finance Manager and Acting General Manager, he lauded the workers, saying despite challenges like “faking of our product by our competitors, consumer complaints and others,” we have still moved PFC forward.

He said he has no doubt in his mind that “if we all work harder than before, we would not only maintain our growth as a business but also increase our earnings.”

“We have the knowledge and experience to go beyond our challenges. Let us, therefore, work as a team so as to open a new chapter in the history of PFC,” he charged.

The General Manager on behalf of Management thanked all loyal staff for helping the company to get to where it is today, affirming that management on its part will ensure that PFC achieves all its targets, and comes out as a prosperous company.

Certificates were presented to the deserving employees by Mr. Tolhoek, amidst dancing and merry making, which ran late into the night.
