Crime Unit Seizes Sub Grade Tuna Sold For Human Consumptionff

Just behind the market sector of Guayaquil, agents of the Crime Unit were able to trace the whereabouts of a shipment of tuna not be fit for human consumption, being considered as food for cats.

 

At the location, between 36 and CH Street they found 400 cases of tuna legally acquired at an auction held at the offices of Consep by Abel López.

 

The unlabeled cans of tuna seized at this location were being stickered with the brand “La Espanola”, without any expiry date, and which were to be sold at different city markets.

 

Crimes Unit Agents of the Guayaquil Judicial Police indicated that they are investigating two people who have distributed these cans in other markets and stores in the city center.

 

Two men were arrested during the operation and are being held for questioning. They were identified by the arresting officers as Milton Salguero Eras and Anselmo Jimenez.

 

Meanwhile, agents continue their search to seize and recall the rest of the sub grade tuna that is unfit for human consumption.
