Parry & Company Limited, the sole distributors of StarKist Tuna in Ghana and West Africa, has unveiled a new look of its premium brand, StarKist tuna flakes in Sunflower oil in Accra.

The new label, which had been lithographed (printed) on a sturdy can that cannot be easily dented, is a departure of the paper label, which StarKist products have been identified with on the market.

Mr. Daniel Twimasie, Chief Executive Officer of PCL, said other canned products of the corporate entity, would be distinctively lithographed with the new label to check counterfeiting.

Mr. Nichol John Elizabeth, General Manager of Pioneer Food Cannery Limited, producers of tuna flakes and canned foods, told the Ghana News Agency that his outfit produces more than 40,000 tons of tuna yearly, adding StarKist products command a three-per cent of the figure.

He said management had projected that StarKist brands would hit 10 per cent of production for the next three years.
