The National Sea Institute of Peru (IMARPE) has signed an agreement of cooperation with the Japan Deep Sea Trawlers Association, to continue with research into the influence on fishing and tuna resources during and after the El Nino phenomenon.
The first stage of the study was done by the Japanese scientific research vessel Shinkai Maru, whereas second stage will be done by the in the Peruvian boat for the Humbolt study. From now on the investigations into fishing and tuna resources will continue to be done from the Peruvian research vessel, informed the IMARPE in a note to the press.
As part of the agreement, it will make a 60 days study cruise financed by the Japanese organization, which will be entirely dedicated to the investigation of the oceanic biológical resources. The Japanese also will donate equipment, nets and other necessary utensils.
