The U.S. Coast Guard evacuated a woman from a commercial fishing vessel Tuesday evening.
At about 7:30 p.m., Coast Guard Group Astoria got a call from the 60-foot boat Tommie Si, stating that a 41-year-old woman was having severe abdominal pain. The crew was fishing for albacore tuna.
A helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria went to the scene, about 80 miles offshore, and hoisted the woman aboard. She was then transported to Oregon Health and Sciences University Hospital, where she was still being evaluated this morning.
