Chicken of the Sea Solid White Tuna has been recalled.

 



A voluntary recall of Chicken of the Sea products has been announced. Those using this product may want to be aware of the concern.

 

According to the company press release, the 12-ounce cans of Chicken of the Sea Solid White Tuna in water are being recalled. The recall involves a production error, and the spokesperson stated the product does not meet the company’s standards for seal tightness.

 

No illnesses or issues involving Chicken of the Sea Solid White Tuna have been reported by consumers. The recall is being done in an effort to ensure that no health issues occur.

 

Tri-Union Seafood reported there may be loose seals or seams on a limited number of products. The concern is that contamination or spoilage may occur in such products. The voluntary recall is to prevent any health issues or concerns.

 

Using a trace-back method, Tri-Union Seafood was able to publish the locations of the Chicken of the Sea products. Products may be found in California, Colorado, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, New York, Maine, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Utah.

 

All of the recalled Chicken of the Sea products involved in the recall were distributed in February and May. The cans will include the UPC code 4800000262. The Best By Date will be 02/10/14.
