The tuna vessel Pepe Milena, with Peruvian flag, arrived last Friday to the Isabela Island, of the Galapagos group of islands, carrying the body of the deceased 17 year-old fisherman Ruben Garcia Chunga and survivor Henry Chunga Macias, who were shipwrecked in the Pacific Ocean since June 6th.
The chief of the Vilamil Port chief, Oscar Parraga Guzman, reported that the tuna vessel found the fishermen last Thursday. They were at high sea, near Mayra Patricia, at 420 miles southeast of the Galapagos’ Island Isabela. Garcia was in very bad health condition when rescued and died shortly after being found. Chunga managed to recover after receiving medical attention on the vessel.
The fishermen were shipwrecked for more than 30 days.
