To improve lunchtimes, in the U.K. McDonald's has introduced a tuna pasta salad to its new tastes menu for summer. These lighter menu options have less than 5 per cent fat and can contribute towards your five-a-day target for fruit and vegetables.
The target group is working women.
A third of U.K. women do not take a lunch break at work. And 84 per cent of those surveyed said they had to work during lunch breaks or eat at their desks, according to research for McDonald's.
Now McDonald's wants to encourage Britons, the hardest workers in Europe, to take longer lunch hours and hunt down their nearest sun trap to get some fresh air.
A lunch break boosts concentration and makes you more alert.
Some 53 per cent said that a break gave them time to clear their head, with 34 per cent stating that it increased their energy.
