The daily average of the quantity of fish by traditional fishermen in the waters of the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea is estimated at about 500 tons.
In a statement to Saba, Deputy Director of the Marine Authority Salem Saleh said that there are more than 500 species of fish, clarifying that they fish 100 tons of tuna and 400 tons of other kinds of fish and are marketed for local consumption.
He pointed out that the a Yemeni technical team is currently raising awareness of guidance to fishermen to regulate the fishing process and urge fishermen to control some of the ships that are random and not licensed in Yemeni territorial waters.
