Whole Foods Market Recalls Frozen Tuna Steaks Due To Histamine ff

Shoppers who buy fish should ensure they have not purchased frozen “Whole Catch Yellow Fin Tuna Steaks” upc number 0-99482-42078-9 in a 12 ounce package with a best by date of December 5, 2010. These products may contain high levels of histamine which may cause a serious allergic reaction if consumed. Symptoms of this poisoning include burning in the mouth, facial swelling, rash, hives and itchy skin, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Symptoms can vary from person to person. Two known cases have been reported to Whole Foods Market.

No other Whole Foods products are affected by this recall.

The fish was sold in some Whole Foods locations in 28 states as well as the District of Columbia.

Consumers who have any recalled product have been asked to return them to place of purchase for a refund.
