The European Union has allowed 32 Vietnamese seafood enterprises to export their products to the single market, bringing the total number of seafood exporters to the EU to 94.
This is the EU’s acknowledgement of Vietnam’s efforts to control seafood safety and hygiene, particularly anti-biotic residues.
According to Vietnam’s Quality and Hygiene Inspection Center, since mid-February, 1,500 shipments of seafood products have been exported to EU markets, none of which was found to contain anti-biotic residue.
The EU is considering another six enterprises to add to the list.
