10 companies within the Ecuadorian Chamber of Industry Tuna Processors (CEIPA) have united to help the earthquake victims in Haiti by donating 2 thousand cartons of canned tuna.

The donation was delivered last week to the director of the Provincial Risk Management Unit. This aid joined the supply
of food that was delivered by the Caritas Group in Ecuador.

Carlos Calero, president of CEIPA, said the tuna industry has always identified with solidarity actions for the needy.

“It is for this reason that we are contributing with this grain of sand which is financed by the companies in Ecuador:  Conservas Isabel, Galapesca, Eurofish, Ideal, Inepaca, Marbelize, Seafman, Tecopesca, Salica of Ecuador, Asiservy, Bilbosa and Prefrescomar" he said.

The 2 thousand boxes are valued at USD 80,000.

The Risk Management Unit director made a public announcement thanking these tuna companies for their contribution.
