Poland Alerts For Frozen Tuna Steaks From Spainff

Poland alerted high levels of histamine in frozen tuna steaks from Spain last week. Among the values found were 1433.55 and 959.7 mg/kg – ppm.

 

The findings were made during an official control on the market and is to be withdrawn thereof.

 

Furthermore, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System For Food And Feed published a correction to a previous notification. That of mercury found in red tuna (Thunnus tynnus ) originating from Spain.

 

The actual notification was not a border rejection because the product was not rejected at the outer Community border. For this reason, the notification classification has been changed into “information”.
