Vanuatu has delivered a consignment of sashimi to Japan, in an achievement for the small nation's fishing industry.
The two tons of yellowfin tuna were treated at the new Vanuatu Tuna Fishing processing plant.
The plant belongs to New Zealand's former honorary consul to Vanuatu, Christophe Emelee.
The first delivery is intended to test the Japanese market.
Sashimi is a Japanese delicacy mainly consisting of very fresh raw seafood, sliced into thin pieces and served with a dipping sauce and simple garnishes.
