Twelve Indonesian fishermen will be brought to Darwin after they were allegedly caught fishing in northern Australian waters. Rear Admiral Allan du Toit said an Indonesian fishing vessel was found inside the Australian fishing zone on Wednesday. The boat was spotted by a Royal Australian Air Force patrol plane and later apprehended by the Royal Australian Navy patrol boat the HMAS Maitland about 320 nautical miles north of Broome.
The vessel was allegedly found with about two tons of tuna, 30kg of shark fin and 10kg of shark fillet. The 12 crew members will be taken to Darwin for further investigation by the Australian Fisheries Management Authority.
