Assets of Solgreen Ltd at Ranadi, Honiara, will soon go into the hands of a new owner.
Bank South Pacific (BSP), which put the assets on public tender recently, said the winning bidder has been identified. BSP took the assets, through a court ruling, after Solgreen, a fishing company, failed to repay a loan it borrowed from the bank.
The bank’s country manager Mark Corcoran said a new owner has been identified.
“But I cannot reveal the name at this stage,†Mr. Corcoran said. “It’s still confidential because we are currently finalizing transfer documents and other formalities,†he said.
The assets there include a double-storey building and other equipment.
Solgreen, a Japanese company, used to export fresh tuna to the lucrative Japanese sashi market.
But it was forced to close its operations over unpaid taxes to the government.
