EU Fishery Control Agency Now Operational In Spainff

Spain The European Fishery Control Agency has finally commenced its activities in Vigo, Spain, after two years operating from Brussels. The office covers 2000 square meters over several floors.
Although the Agency is located at a temporary address in the city of Vigo, it is nevertheless fulfilling its tasks, which consist of coordinating the fishery inspections by EU member states and controlling illegal imports.
The European Agency is headed by the Dutchman Harm Koster and employs 41 euro-workers from 15 different countries within the 27 European Union member states.
Harm Koster will be working side by side with an administration board, which will be composed by one representative of each of the 27 EU countries, as well as 6 delegates from the European Commission. The agency will be convening at least once every six months to provide feedback to the EU and issue their reports.
