EU Import Prices Of Canned Tuna In Brine Jumped By 24% In 2007ff

European Union (EU) acquisition of canned tuna in brine cost 24% more in 2007 than in the previous year. The average price per carton (48 x 185g) reached US$ 32.27 and US$ 25.99 CIF European port in 2006.

 

The main exporter to Europe in this category was Seychelles with 3.895.394 cartons at an average price of US $ 34.16 – a 22% grow from avg. US $ 27.91 per unit.

 

The African country was followed by Latin American Ecuador with 3.819.718 cartons in 2007 and a much less ostensive rise of 13% from last year’s price.

 

Furthermore, Mauritius was the next exporter in terms of quantity with 3.376.509 cartons which cost increased by 15% and reached an average of US $ 31.66.

 

The EU paid a less expressive raise in the prices of canned tuna in oil in 2007: 16% more than the previous year, reaching an average of US $ 37.77 per carton.
