Malta Wants EU To Give More Access To Tuna Informationff

1 July 2008 Malta

Resources and Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino has met with French Agriculture Minister Michel Barnier to discuss issues of relevance to the Maltese agricultural sector and Malta’s most immediate priorities for the coming months.

This meeting was held as part of a consultation exercise prior to the French presidency of the European Union.

Both sides agreed that the European Commission should offer wider access to information about tuna fishing in the Mediterranean sea.

Pullicino said that the European Commission should consider member states as its partners and insisted that every member state should have complete access to information so that every state will be able to face its responsibilities better.
