Solomon Islands Plan To Build 2 New Loining Plants ff

The Solomon Islands government has unveiled its policy statement, vowing to fight corruption and deliver effective service to the people.

Prime Minister Dr. Derek Sikua’s policy statement promises to provide clean piped running water and sanitation to all villages by 2010, provide basic education up to form three and adequately supply health post within an hour’s walk to all Solomon Islanders.

The Coalition for National Unity and Rural Advancement (CNURA) will also embark on what it describes as 100/100 plan – 100km of new roads to be constructed each year and 100kms of existing roads to be sealed every year.

Dr. Sikua said not only will the initiative creates jobs for Solomon Islanders, it will also open up and connect people and opportunities for economic activity.

The government also plans to build two tuna loin factories by 2009, as well as pump boat projects.

It also intended to build an international airport in the Western Province.

The government also pledges to develop palm oil plantations on Malaita, Choiseul and Western provinces.
