Lease Option Boosts Global Sales Of TUNIPACK® Canning Machines ff

21 January 2008 Spain

In 2007, Hermasa has increased its presence in the international markets with new installations, both of equipment and full plants. The latest installation of a full plant dedicated to making canned tuna and other canned food has been that of Conservas Lolin (Cantabria-Spain).

Also, 115 TUNIPACK® have been sold since the model 300 of this family was launched in April 2001. This number of units, together with the fact that several clients buy again, confirms the reliability of this packing machine. Likewise, in 2007 we sold 5 units of the TUNIPACK®-500 model, the fastest packing machine in the market. As part of Hermasa’s expansion, Algeria has become a major market, though Thailand, where Golden Prize already has 7 TUNIPACK®, and Spain are the markets where there are most units.

Every model of the TUNIPACK® family shares the same characteristics:

- Change of the filling weight without the need to work on the format of the machine (this is done from the control touch screen integrated in the machine).
- Possibility of using different types of can height without the need to change the format of the machine.
- Maximum operating simplicity.
- Weight precision.
- Quality of presentation.
- Low maintenance costs.

In addition, we are continuously making improvements for the benefit of the user. This indicates the dynamism and the significance this equipment has for Hermasa.

RTS INTERNATIONAL, a company of the group dedicated to renting equipment has undoubtedly contributed to this growth. This company offers other financial possibilities to those clients that do not wish to buy the equipment, but rather look for a more complete service with technical assistance and spare parts included in the scope of the supply. This new option has been a key element in the installation of new TUNIPACK® packing machines in Alliance Tuna and Philbest Canning Corp. (Philippines), Indian Ocean Tuna (Seychelles) and recently Asiservy in Ecuador.

At another level, it is worth highlighting the growth in the sale of new sardine cookers, both automatic and those of manual load and unload type, with new installations of several units of this equipment in Morocco, Tunisia, Venezuela, etc…

As for the future, 2008 will be a key year in Hermasa’s activity, as it will launch to the market two innovative projects focused on the tuna canning industry, and which it seems could be also be used in other sectors dedicated to the transformation of fishing products.

Hermasa remains committed to its daily work dedicated to improving its products, and the introduction of new solutions to the market that are really efficient.
