MMP Thailand Opens New Tuna Cannery In China ff

The Thailand based MMP Group has announced that they have opened a second canned tuna factory, in Shunde, Foshan City in China.

MMP International of Thailand has been successfully operating a tuna cannery in Samutsakorn for many years and now MMP China has opened several months ago.

This new factory is intended to supplement the demand that MMP can no longer provide from Thailand, and will be concentrating entirely on the production of canned tuna, petfood and seafood.  The production plant in Thailand has been packing canned tuna at the full capacity of 150 M/T daily, while the MMP China cannery is now capable of 50 M/T per shift on a daily basis in the first year. The target is to move up to 100 M/T per shift in the following years. Besides canned tuna the new plant will also pack canned petfood and plans to pack other canned seafood in the future.

Main target markets will remain the USA, Europe and Middle East.
