Hermasa Tunipack Machine Drives 2006 Results ff

3 April 2007 Spain

Hermasa says it has closed the year 2006 after having sold up to 100 tuna packing machines TUNIPACK® which have been installed all over the world. RTS INTERNATIONAL, a company created by Hermasa to provide leasing services for the TUNIPACK®, has contributed to the increase in the number of contracts signed.

From its new location in the Technological & Logistic Park of Vigo, Hermasa has increased year by year its presence at the international markets with now over 300 customers in 50 countries. A major component of the company’s strategy is   investing on I+D+i (Investigation + Development + Innovation), since only through research into new technologies and processes Hermasa’s great growth during last years can be continued.

Despite TUNIPACK® big success, it is necessary to mention the manufacture of complete lines for tuna, sardine and mackerel canning, with few plants installed recently. At the moments Hermasa is installing its technology in Conservas Lolín (Cantabria – Spain), Propisca (Venezuela), Aveiro Maroc (Morocco) and has finished installing in Cap-Carthage (Túnez) and Silver Food (Morocco)

Hermasa’s  sales in 2006 totalled 9.1 Million Euro, which represents a 20% increase compared to 2005 and 85% of it came from exports. Nowadays, the company has 50 employees. The number of representatives is increasing; they are in charge of providing commercial and technical support in order to answer its customer’s needs.

This year Hermasa will sponsor the European Tuna Conference to be held in Brussels next April 23rd, 2007.
