Usd 100 Reward For Tuna Tagsff

25 April 2006 United States

There is a $500 reward for returning implanted archival tuna tags from Atlantic bluefin tuna. A team of U.S. scientists from the University of New Hampshire, Virginia Institute of Marine Science and Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, along with recreational and commercial fishermen, have tagged small bluefin tuna for research purposes.

Each tag has a long, thin, light stalk protruding from the fish. Sensors record depth, temperature and other data.

To get the reward, note the date, location, sea surface temperature, length and weight of the fish. Call the Large Pelagics Lab at the University of New Hampshire at 603-862-2891 or 603-862-2897 or e-mail www.tunalab@unh.edu. and they will tell you where to send the tag.
