During a meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce of Vigo (Spain) the responsible of the Guinean Center of Fishing Surveillance and the Technical Councilor of the Ministry of Fisheries of the Guinean Republic introduced the Guinea-Conakry Fishing Program for 2005.
During this conference they also offered information about the Guinean fishing grounds and other productive sectors of this country, specifically about food, transportation, building, industry and mining.
The presentation’s purpose was to offer further data about this African country to the local companies as well as to those interested in starting new commercial relationships.
The Guinean delegation received a positive response by some of the representatives of the Boatowners Association of the Port of Vigo, who listened with interest to the proposals for this year and the possibility of obtaining from the Government of the Guinean Republic favorable conditions for companies interested in getting established in this country.
Guinean Republic maintains since 1992 a fishing agreement with the European Union that basically allows the fishery of tuna species and cephalopods in exchange for economical compensations.
