Mauritius & S-Africa To Sign Canned Tuna Accord Soonff

21 October 2004 Mauritius

Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Berenger indicated plans by Mauritius to sign an accord next month for the export of canned tuna to South Africa.

Mauritius is also expected to sign a new fishery agreement with the Seychelles during the Prime Minister’s planned visit to that country in December, official sources said in Port-Louis.

Under the accord, ships from Seychelles would be able to fish in Mauritian waters, according to Mauritian Fishery Minister Sylvio Michel. He said a Mauritian mission would visit Australia in November for training on new fishing techniques.
