Expansion Of PNG Wewak Port For Tuna Vesselsff

13 April 2004 Papua New Guinea

According to Papua New Guinea government sources, the port of Wewak is to be expanded soon.

The wharf is expected to be extended by 50 to 100 meters thus enabling large tuna fishing vessels to enter the port and unload catches for the tuna loining factory, which is nearing completion and could be operational within this year.

Bridge builders, Mabey and Johnson are expected to construct jetties and wharves in the second stage of its operations in PNG.
