Japan: DNA Examination For Tuna ff

8 April 2004 Japan
In an effort to crack down on false labeling of tuna products, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will add tuna, whale and certain pork products to DNA printing. This will prevent fraudulent labeling and marketing of albacore tuna as bluefin tuna. This examination has come into effect from the beginning of the year.
