28 October 2013 France

French company Saupiquet has added a new variety to its line of tuna products that dominate the German market. The tuna fillets packed inside a club can come in a choice of natural, extra virgin olive oil, lemon and rosemary and parsley.

The tuna is said to be soft in texture and good to be served alone or accompanied by other ingredients. Saupiquet’s website offers recipe suggestions to best compliment the array of flavors.

Employing 542 workers, Saupiquet exports a significant amount of its tuna products to Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe and Vietnam. Its portfolio of foods includes six lines of tuna products, as well as mackerel and sardines. In 2011, Saupiquet made 200 million euros (USD 275 million) in sales.

The company prides itself in offering quality products and assuming full responsibility in the environmental and social context throughout the production process, from catch to finished product. Saupiquet was the founding member of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF).
