The fifteenth edition of Conxemar, the International Fair of Frozen Seafood, closed for business after an estimated 24,000 visitors were welcomed through its doors over three days. While the number of attendees is thought to be down on last year, economic activity has risen.
According to the organization, there was a “lower presence of domestic visitors†to the Vigo seafood fair, but attendance came in the range of 84 different nationalities, particularly Denmark, Brazil, France, Portugal and Italy.
Sources said that over the three days, 500 exhibitors were present, and the majority state that “economic activity is picking up and has reflected more optimism in the market.â€
The organization also expressed that it was satisfied by the overall results of the fair as it confirmed that commitment and confidence in the industry still remained. It stated that due to the success of this year’s edition, some companies had already confirmed participation in next year’s fair.
