Hayduk Wins Fishing Quota To Expand Within Tuna Marketff

With hopes to grow within the tuna market, Hayduk Corporation is focusing on re-powering its product lines for direct human consumption products including canned, frozen and cured fish and indirect human consumption and will invest USD 38 million over the next 18 months into doing this.

Being assigned a 5000 ton tuna fishing quota by the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC), Peru has auctioned the opportunity which has been won by Hayduk Corporation, a Peruvian tuna fishing and processing company.

They hope to expand their involvement within the tuna industry with their fleet of purse seine vessels, and after securing the quota Hayduk anticipates increasing their supply to the local consumer market with between 350,000 and 400,000 cases.

The company who work towards the mission of contributing to the improvement of world nutrition and health, while focusing on sustainability say they hope to become world leaders in the tuna industry.

The chairman of the fisheries, Walter Martinez Moreno said: “This foray into the tuna industry will help us to take our brands to a new level.”
