Large tuna hauls have made port this week in Coffs Harbor, with the catch to be trucked to Queensland and bound for international fish markets.
Three vessels Papanui, Hapuku and Diamax have unloaded a whopping haul of yellowfin tuna at the Coffs Harbor Marina after a week of long-line fishing between Queensland and Port Stephens.
The crew said the size of the tuna catch was pleasing with expectations that larger fish still will hit NSW waters in coming months.
Some of the catch is bound for the domestic market, while a large part is also exported to lucrative fish markets throughout Asia such as Japan.
