Despite a government decision restricting non-native long line tuna boats from fishing in the waters of the Fiji archipelago, Fiji Fish Limited is continuing to fish inside those limits. The company’s CEO. Grahame Southwick, says he is unhappy the government's decision. Only native Fiji people, companies and foreign companies with native shareholders with boats under 20 metres long are allowed in the archipelago waters.
Fiji Fish Limited is not meeting these criteria. Mr Southwick says, he has 15 metre boats and the government cannot force them to fish in the high seas where they would be in danger.
