The scenic boardwalk of Playa El Murciélago, Manta, was the setting that brought together nearly 10,000 people to witness the election of the new Queen of The Trade (Reina de El Comercio). On a colorful and flashy stage decorated with flowers and psychedelic lights, 12 candidates representing industries and companies based in this city were introduced.
The elected as new sovereign was Alisson Michelle Velez, 17 years old and representative of the tuna canning company Pesdel. The queen's crown is valued at $ 8,000.
