The fourteenth edition of Conxemar, Spain’s largest seafood show, starts today and a major novelty will be the presence of Chinese companies, which offer new business opportunities.
China is a major export market, producer and consumer of seafood and Spanish entrepreneurs are interested in closing deals.
The three-day event in Vigo, Spain will welcome 475 exhibitors from 33 countries. Last year, a total of 25,000 attendees from 92 countries visited the exhibition.
The first Barcelona Seafood show is also organized for this month and is set to take place Oct. 15-17. The event expects 300 exhibitors.
Tuna professionals are watching with interest what will be the success of the Barcelona show, which is not organized by a Spanish organization by a US company Diversified Communications. Vigo is the center of the Spanish tuna canning and fishing industry.
