Sri Lanka is one of the most conducive countries for investments. Sri Lanka has ended the terrorism which prevailed in the country for over 30 years and the Sri Lankan government has already created a peaceful environment in the country.
“At present Sri Lanka is developing and any investor can make their investments in Sri Lanka without doubtâ€, Kiyoshi Kimura alias Japan’s Tuna King said.
A large scale entrepreneur in Japan Kimura emphasized that his country is prepared to provide the latest technology for the development of the fisheries industry in Sri Lanka.
He expressed these views when he met Minister Rajitha Senaratne at the Fisheries Ministry and held a cordial discussion.
“They discussed establishing a Sashimi production centre in Sri Lanka and ways for developing Tuna fish exports to the Kiyomura Corporation†a ministry spokesman said.
“Kimura stressed that a peaceful environment is prevailing in Sri Lanka and any entrepreneur can arrive in the country for investing. He said that he is prepared to provide technology for the uplift of the fisheries industry†the spokesman said.
Meanwhile addressing a media briefing held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, recently Kiyoshi said, “I hope to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Sri Lanka to increase fish exports and to provide training for Sri Lankans on Sashimi fish production with Japanese technology. I also expect to cultivate vegetables and to start broiler farms here and hope to export them to Japan.â€
The ‘Tuna King’ observed: “Sri Lanka has lots of fishermen but they don’t have proper knowledge about the fisheries industry. I will start a fishermen’s training centre here and give them knowledge and technical assistance.†Sri Lankan Consul General in Japan Sunil M. Gamage, Specialist Doctor Sujatha Senaratne, Fisheries and Aquatic resources Development Minister Media Secretary Narendra Rajapaksa were also present.
