Kuala Lumpur-based seafood processor Top Bridge Ventures Sdn Bhd is studying the viability of importing tuna fish from India and develop it as a value-added product.

The company’s director Abu Bakar As-Sidek Mohd Sidek yesterday said it would work with partners in India to process and pack the tuna from the subcontinent.

“From our side, Top Bridge will work towards halal certification, prior to exporting the item,” he said at a signing ceremony between Top Bridge and its contract manufacturer Lakudang (M) Sdn Bhd to process shrimp for export purposes.

Abu Bakar also said that in collaboration with major seafood importing buyers from Australia and the US, Top Bridge has secured contracts to supply processed seafood such as shrimp, fish and others.

“Top Bridge which has been in existence for three years, has a paid-up capital of RM2.5 million and authorized capital of RM5 million. Apart from engaging in the business of importing and processing, we also supply raw and processed food.”
