The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) Commission has decided and determined total allowable commercial catch (TACC) figures for the eastern and western tuna and billfish fisheries. These catch limits apply to the 2012-13 fishing season which commences on 1 March 2012.

The TACCs for the 2012-13 fishing season are detailed below. Undercatch and overcatch provisions and details for converting the amount of quota Statutory Fishing Rights (SFRs) to kg are on AFMA’s website.

Although most of the TACCs remain unchanged, the conversion factors are slightly different for each species due to the grant of an additional quota SFRs to the 18 Eastern Skipjack Fishery permit holders. This grant will come into effect at the beginning of the 2012-13 fishing season.
