A bluefin tuna that made its way to Pavilion Beach Sunday morning ended up on a few dinner tables this week.
Jim Rybicki reports that the tuna had been swimming in circles since about 7 a.m. in shallow water when a fisherman in a rowboat caught it around 10:15 a.m.
“The fish was tired by the end and all the person in the boat had to do to catch it was grab its tail and put a rope around it," Rybicki told the Chronicle. “It looked like it was about six feet long and around 200 to 300 pounds. It took three men quite a struggle to lift the fish and put it in the bed of a pickup truck.†“They were going to take it home and skive it up for meals,†Rybicki reported.
