In celebration of ‘Fish Conservation Month’, the Philippine Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR IX) through the active leadership of Regional Director Ahadulla S. Sajili, Al Haj. conducted several activities like painting contest, float parade and competition and the first ever search for Miss Fishcon 2011.
The participating floats from the canneries and fishing companies followed this year’s theme “Karagatan Pagyamanin, isda paramihin, buong mundo pasiglahinâ€.
Among the participants were Ayala Seafood and Mega Fishing Corporation, Universal Canning Inc and Zamboanga Universal Fishing Corporation, Columbus Seafoods Corporation and Century Tuna, Permex Producer & Exporter, Chamber of Philippine Octopus Zamboanga Chapter, YL Fishing Corporation, Nancy Fishing Corporation, Jordan Fishing Corporation, Century Fishing Corporation, OLC Fishing Corporation, E&L Fishing Corporation and AMR Trade and Industrial.
The floats of Chamber of the Philippine Octopus Zamboanga Chapter was adjudged winner of the Float Competition while Permex Producer & Exporter Corporation and Ayala Seafood Corporation/Mega Fishing were named 2nd and 3rd place winners.
