The Marine Stewardship Council has named Sandra Cedrone, a seafood industry veteran with more than 25 years’ experience, as senior commercial manager, Americas. She will be responsible for engaging and growing sustainability commitments and participation in the MSC program within the foodservice sector in the Americas Region and will be based in the Boston, Massachusetts area.
Cedrone comes to the MSC from Fortis Foods International where she held the position of managing director. She has also held leadership positions at a number of companies including Slade Gorton & Company, Fishery Products and Sysco.
Geoff Bolan, MSC commercial director for the Americas Region, said: “The foodservice sector is playing an increasingly important role in advancing seafood sustainability and Sandie’s personal passion and deep experience will contribute to additional sustainability commitments from the foodservice sector in the region.â€
Cedrone said: “I’m proud of the sustainability commitment my friends and colleagues in the seafood industry have made and continue to make. In my new role with the MSC, I am committed to engaging with old friends and making new ones to help drive seafood sustainability forward, because it matters too much to the future of our industry and our planet.â€
