ANFACO Starts EU Subsidized Promotion Of Canned Tunaff

The Spanish National Association of Manufacturers of Canned Fish and Seafood (Anfaco-Cecopesca), based in Vigo, is launching the campaign “Me Quieren” (“They Want Me”). This is the association’s new initiative designed to sponsor the consumption of canned fish and seafood, as well as to promote the nutritional characteristics and qualities of all canned seafood.

The Galician canning industry’s turnover last year was more than 1,300 million euros, of which 70% correspond to the tuna sector.

The campaign
will be rotating thought 15 Spanish cities:  Malaga, Oviedo, Cadiz, Vigo, Tarragona, Valladolid, Elche, Alicante, Castellón, Granada, Pamplona, San Sebastian, Santander, Seville, Vitoria, Zaragoza and, finally, Valencia .

EU Funds

This initiative, organized by Anfaco-Cecopesca in collaboration with the FROM and subsidized by the EU, corresponds to one of the association’s commitments, which is to introduce and promote the consumption of canned fish, reporting the variety of canned fish consumers can expect to find on supermarket shelves and food stores, as well as the special health benefits.
