Togiola also said on his radio program that he was informed last week by StarKist Samoa that they are again recruiting more workers for the cannery due to the need, and this despite the many challenges faced by StarKist, such as the minimum wage issue.
He said the cannery has also informed him that they are looking into operating on Saturdays all the way to the holidays.
Togiola says the government and the cannery will continue to work together during these difficult and challenging times and he is very thankful for these employment opportunities for the local workforce.
